Rob Van Dam & Kane have had a hot series of cage matches on the house show circuit with the finally live on RAW. Kane won the series, including once with a chockslam from the top rope. RVD only won once by escaping the cage, when referee Eric Bishoff wouldn't count Kane's shoulders down. In the RAW finally Kane threw RVD the cage to the outside, but Bischoff restarted the match, declaring that it could only end by pin, submission or by escaping the cage, not being thrown through it. Kane would win by pinfall.
